A birthday poem to a very old and dear friend. |
|
another year come
another year gone
both of us
with
gray hairs
not caring
just moving along
the days grow shorter
the nights grow longer
our friendship
moves with the sun
on a very bright day
or the darkness
on a very cloudy day
do we care
no
we just move along
winter, spring, summer or fall
our friendship grows
friends, family, are we
one never knows
memories grow stronger
and
our friendship still grows
with each
and
every passing year
so continue to feel
in your heart
what i feel in mine
a strong bond
between two friends
from so long ago
Happy Birthday my dear friend
Joyce
Happy Birthday to thee!

Phyllis,
This hits home because my best of friend of 40 years will be 50 this years. She just became a grandmother, so I know she's feeling it.
Very nice poem, and Happy Birthday to your friend.
