Happy 4th of July Holiday Weekend to my friends and supporters at Author's Den and Happy 233rd birthday, America! I hope each of you has a safe and enjoyable holiday and let us not forget the troops who assure our right to celebrate, peacefully and in freeedom.
|
I see a cake aglow with pride
Decked in red, white, and blue
Baked with love by troops who died
Served with peace, sure and true
Each year, the cake stands for our might
And displays our legacy
Our liberty and faith alight
For the whole world to see
Far-reaching from the coastal shores
To our mountains’ highest crests
Our nation’s deep devotion soars
For, indeed, our lives are blessed
This day we join, merriment abound
Across this land we praise
To honor what we hold profound
Independence, all our days
I see a cake aglow with hope
A testament to brighter tomorrows
A nation whose strength allows us to cope
Whenever we are faced with sorrows
A stellar celebration of life and our worth
All over our sprawling frontiers
A grand celebration of our Nation’s birth
And our two hundred thirty-three years!
