A Page before her King
I see him on the horizon
Pen mightier than sword
For this Page you brighten
For mighty is your word
Revered by all who know him
The battles that he won
The King doth stand afore me
A Page so aptly drawn
My King you have slain many
To thee I humbly bow
Please teach me so I may that
Learn from you somehow
For I aspire your knowledge
And you have taught me well
Patience part the answer
Life’s journey too as well
He beckoned the Page closer
For so that she may see
The battle scars upon him
He fought so mightily
For I have gathered wisdom
My young inspired Page
So listen what I tell you
As though I am your Sage
I fought a many dragons
Along so many roads
For they were many lessons
And met a lot of toads
More valleys dry like deserts
Where I did so much thirst
At times I thought I’d perish
At times I felt me cursed
At times upon the mountains
I stood near at the cliffs
For times I felt defeated
Sometimes I felt adrift
But wisdom was my teacher
Although naught were it seen
Until I won the battle
For life can be so mean
I fought the mighty Kraken
Medusa and her whiles
Was smote upon by many
Yet nary did I fall
It was my inner strength
It was my destiny
For so I can teach others
To avoid such suffering
Although life can be cruel
I cannot save them all
I write the words to touch
So others hope naught fall
I’ve earned all of my scars
For they have taught me well
I have gleaned the strength
For others I can tell
The journey has been long
And also very rough
And naught for faint of heart
For that I’ll never bluff
But listen to me well
My dear young little Page
Your King now can stand mighty
Naught sword but glyph engraves
On every path I walked
On every mountain climbed
On every desert crawled
It will so be inscribed
For they will know my name
For so I have been there
For there are others like me
And some that were ensnared
But all my strength within me
And all my fortitude
To win those mighty battles
For I have made it through
Learn my journey well
My young inquiring Page
For I will give all insight
The walk that I have made
