True friends are rare indeed. Thank you for sharing! I have a handful also and go once a year on Memorial day to grieve one gone on to heaven. I miss her, but know one day I get to see her again!

So few are real friends anymore. As a child I thought I had many. In my days as a young man, I thought I had several. In my aging days so few can I claim to be true. Time has let them slip away to mere memories if that. You are my closest friend.
Stay well and keep writing

| Whatever it was that occasioned this poem to resurface I hope its fresh "look over" has been beneficial, Carol. We all need to count our friends from time to time, not as a headcount per se, but as positive thoughts which capture the whole of yourself and your three friends. You are fortunate having three, many haven't even that number to call true friends. |
