A Quiet State Of Mind

The state of world affairs is rather unsettling.

War, Fears and tumults of all kind
Terrorist bombs and things that malign

So much ill will and all by design
Have most of us wanting a quiet state of mind

Drugs, violence and our troops on the line
Strange and wierd happenings, it seems all the time

The antics and rage appear as a sign
Even the shootings at school Columbine

Have us all longing for a quiet state of mind
So much to disturb us and make our hearts pine

Problems in Corporate and market decline
The homeless, the helpless, the sound of their whine

Wer'e in this together and know we must find
Somehow the way to a quiet state of mind

Spiritually Inclined

Not much one can do about the state of the world other than resist adding to the chaos. But paths to inner peace are many and even amid the rumblings of disorder and disaster can lead indeed to the desired quiet state of mind. Much gratitude for the sharing,
