THEY USED TO 'NAME' HORSES ...
DIDN'T THEY?
SOME OF US NAME 'HORSE-POWER' ...
AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PIC ...
I WON !!!
MIRRORS DON'T LIE !

My ‘Boy’ FRANK
© - Tom Hyland - 4/21/12
Frank is FAST!
He is FLEXIBLE!
He is FUEL EFFICIENT!
Frank is a FORD FUSION - 2007 SL!
Why FRANK?
Actually, He’s FRANK II ...
Back around 2000 or So -
My Buddy, ANDREW had Three Cars ...
He GAVE me One - FREE!
Andrew Always Named His Cars -
‘BELLE’ was a ’56 Chevie Belair!
‘STAR’ was a ’46 Plymouth!
‘FRANK’ was a ’68 Plymouth FURY!
A Really BIG BOAT - That RAN, and RAN, and RAN!
Dead Maroon Paint - Chipping Black Vinyl Top -
AT Tranie - W/PS - and a Sagging Head-Liner ...
He Needed WORK!
BRAKES were SHOT!
After Getting Them Repaired -
FRANK and I Drove Back & Forth to WORK ...
My Daughter Ann’s ’87 Chevie S-10 Blazer DIED!
She Borrowed FRANK for a While ...
AND LOVED HIM!
So - I Let Her ADOPT HIM!
Many Months Later, She SOLD Him -
To Her ‘Fella’ Chaplain!
When They ‘Split’ - FRANK Went -
‘Cross Country’ to ARIZONA!
Haven’t Heard ‘Hide Nor Hair’ of Either -
For Years Now - BUT - In FRANK’s Honor -
In November 2010 - I Thought All the ‘F’s Sounded Good ...
FORD FUSION FRANK!
The II is Actually Superfluous!
But, Like Desi & Lucy - Thought I’d SPLAIN!
For a Straight I-4 -
FRANK IS FASTEST FOUR-BANGER I EVER DROVE!
In Seventeen Months - Put 20,000 Miles On Him -
‘PURRS’ Like a ‘Kitten’
‘Fleet-Footed’ like a JAGUAR!
MPG - 20-22 City - 28-30 Long Range.
My ‘Boy’ FRANK ...
FABULOUS FORD FUSION!
“LOVE IS A MANY-SPLENDORED THING!’

Sounds like a great car!! So glad you and Frank have had the good luck to get together!!!
As for the {very nicely written} history, it's hard not to long for
the days when cars all had personality. Forgetting the price of
running, the bigger and bolder, the better! Bring back fins and
running boards!! Long, sun-yellow or fire-engine red convertibles with cloth tops. Weren't as safe, but man, it felt great to ride
with the top down in the summer.
All that aside, your poem should be on the wall of a car museum.
I love your enthusiasm and the way you have 'detailed' the 'vehicle.'
Ride, man, R I D E !!!

Remember naming my 57 Desoto “flying purple Chevy eater.” I have taken to naming my 2007 Ford Freestar my “Hot Rod Lincoln” because it has a big engine and use as plush as a Lincoln in its “limited” edition.
