I rushed into the icy cold.
Bit late for work if truth be told.
I shut the door and started to freeze
Forgot my shoes …and also my keys!
You gotta laugh eh?
I fumbled round about the snow
Scraped my fingers, stubbed my toe.
Eventually I found a rock
To fit inside my soggy sock
You gotta laugh eh?
I swung my sock till stretched and thin
I had to smash a window in.
I didn’t know the sock would tear
And rock would sally through the air
You gotta laugh eh?
Towards the street the rock would strike
Quite happily into a bike.
An ugly dent appeared upon it
As ugly as the guy upon it
You gotta laugh eh?
The biker rode quite purposely
Across my lawn and rockery
His face contorted, angry, pain.
He’d understand if I explain
He’s gotta laugh eh?
He revved his bike a little more
And drove that beast right through my door
He revved his bike some more, broom broom
And wheelied through my living room.
You gotta laugh eh.
He trundled out. Calm as you please
And handed me a set of keys
Not from inside. I’m such a clot
The spare under the flower pot.
You gotta laugh eh?
