Won second place for poetry in college literary journal contest and will be published in college's literary journal "Southwest Creations" this summer.

Smoke slowly unfurls
Staining the screen-painted horizon
Tinted blue
A dark cloak's blanket
Falls over the world
Its outline traces the
Tree's branches stretching
Toward the sky
Beneath the glow
Of the full moon.
All is well
And there is quiet here
In this place where
Peace and eternity continue
On and on
As the night burns.
