Bonne Nuit

The steady ticking of the clock
Reminds me of the close of day
Another week has come and gone
I'm blessed because you came my way.

I feel the warmth of your embrace
Your fingers softly in my hair
The fragrance of you gently lingers
I close my eyes and you are there.

A tender touch, the ocean waves,
An old familiar melody
These stir the longings in my heart...
Won't you come and lie with me?

But, I reach across my empty bed
Our lips were never meant to meet.
For you are just my fantasy
Bonne nuit, mon amour, bonne nuit.

Very nicely written and bittersweet. I am impressed.
