You raise some universal truths about life in general here. In fact, if you're goals are truly in 'sync' with the 'bigger picture', not even money is the primary means. |

For sure Chanti. I need money to complete my goal, but I don't obssess about it tho, because if I do get what I need and my goal in life is complete, I will be the happiest woman alive, with or without money, and I also have seen both sides too. Conviction, determination, and the will to exercise these, are what is important, and money IS the enabler, and not the goal as Ian said. Thank you for sharing Chanti, and this should be published in every woman's, teens, and men's magazines there are, so people can see what they may be doing wrong.
Merry Christmas Chanti, and a very happy New Year too.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

capitalistic, and thus less and less democratic. Look at what happened to our medical provision system!! We have to turn the trend around!!! T h a n k y o u for this pointed reminder. Dear Chanti, I commend you for this most opportune message, delivered in the form of a wise and very well written poem. Preconceived ideas like the one you warn your readers against are indeed dangerous and unfair, as they narrow one’s perspectives – in too many cases, unfortunately, to the point of blindness – regarding one’s fellowmen. Meanness, pettiness, arrogance and egotism are the worst forms of poverty of the mind and of the heart, and we know well that they can affect both those who enjoy material wealth as those who are deprived of it, in equal manner. True wealth is generosity and kindness, regardless of one’s material prosperity. Thank you for sharing this precious treasure with us, and may you continue to see your dreams flourish as you help others fulfill their own.
Love,
Alexandra*

Chanti--to give is to receive...and to give abundantly is to receive in abundance. You know, I've met many people who've achieved wealth in their lifetime, and almost all of them report that they were happier when they had less...
Wealth comes with its own pitfalls--unfortunately most folks have to get there to find out that money cannot solve all of their issues...
Which you nicely summarize here. What's the point is a man gains the world, and loses his soul?
Beautifully done piece!

| A great deal of wisdom flowed from your pen with this write, Chanti. I have never envied the rich, although I know it is cool to do so, I never did. I have seen as much or more meanness from the so-called poor as I have from rich people. Yes, money can, and does get abused and some of those with a lot of money are tryants, but look around, there are tyrants in middlle class, in the poor neighborhoods and everywhere just to a lesser degree. As I said, your pen was earing its keep when you wrote this. |

Chanti~
YOU sure hit the bullsEYE on this one!(dart throwing) $$$ isn't evil, it's the choice you make with it. I had alot years ago, a Big inheritence and I helped friends, and paid big bills and I have none now, I live week to week like many! Believe me, I loved helping, but #1. Those I helped, expected it even when I didn't have it and #2. I felt great helping and being there and now it's harder to do, but I try! YOu can't take possessions to HEAVEN, and what you do while being down here is what will get you THERE! Love is to happiness, and True Love, you say " What more do I need" As long as food is in the frig and bills are AlMOST being paid, and alittle for gas, and that I could waver. As I always say " Plant a seed and Watch it Grow" it's in my Bio, and it's true, what you do that's good, will be grow bigger and that is OUR only mission in life, hopefully to help another or to beable to help ourselves~ Great prevoking write Chanti~ Thank YOU! for this Eye Opener! Actually money is not the root of all evil. 'Love of money' is. :)
This scripture is so often misquoted. Money in the right hands is a useful instrument. In the wrong hands...well we all know what evil it has wrought. Those who are ruled by it, are usually self-absorbed and live shallow, meaningless existences. There is nothing wrong with being prosperous and in fact we should strive to be successful but as Poet's Soul said below, those that have the things that really matter, are truly the rich ones. Love makes me rich.
All I was trying to say in my poem was that money should not be our sole focus. That would be like saying focus only on the road and forget your destination. Conversely, you also can't say 'forget the road' and still reach your destination. I hope that my message will be clearer now.
Thanks to all who've left comments. I appreciate you all.

| Ah Money!! The root of all evil!! What would we do without this wonderful root?? Seize to exsist? Yes, we have to have it, but a wise woman once told me that money was only as good as the things it was used for. I have invested wisely, don't forsee any obstacles, but one week in Intensive Care can put a good dent in anybody's pocketbook. Good health cannot be bought, invest in a good insurance plan. That's what this wise old woman has to say! You are so right, Chanti, a best friend, and a loving relationship are priceless. Everything I have, I owe to Him. |
