| Short but Sharp! I must say this is the sad reality. We are consumers without a conscience at times. I recently saw a documentary about the mistreatment of animals in California and it definitely makes you think twice about life and all things that are blessed to live. All in all the code of nature supercedes man's hand for greed. I truly believe that regardless of our position on the food chain we all animals included have a right to life and just a little bit of damn happiness! I enjoyed your vivid images in this poem and encourage you to write on for the cause sista! |

This is a lovely photo of a Siberian Husky, and it is a shame that there are those who have no conscience, killing fox, mink, or other animals that can be turned into furs, for the overly rich woman. I had thought that there was a trend toward faux furs, but I guess I am wrong.
Those that have to mercilessly kill animals, to make money, have missed the boat of life.
Thanks for sharing, Chanti.

Chanti, I could not (knowing well with full intent) watch that video link for I could already imagine what is in it. These things have always angered me and have shaken my soul to no end. Our Creator has left us Humans in charge of the animals on this planet (some even for our inspiration) but with the need to care for them as creatures such as we are. Those who are inhumane shall answer for this callousness towards any and all animals particularly those who do so for profit or to wear their pelts and other parts for vanity. I can only thank you for this message and hope someday that the rest of the world will wake up to this cruel fact. I wish to you the best of luck and success in all your endeavors.

George, I agree that sometimes people need to be shocked into taking action and I also agree with your stand against abortion as you probably know based on previous works but I've never been so angered by a video as I was by this one. Anyone who watches it will know what I mean. It completely confounds me to think that human beings can be so cruel as to skin these animals alive. The image of one of the live animals lifting it's head after being skinned will stay with me forever. I wish I hadn't seen the images shared in this video and yet I felt compelled to share them because I think that sometimes people do need to be shocked into taking a stand. I have gained an understanding as to why PETA representatives sometimes seem to be so radical in their approach. After watching this, I could quite cheerfully kill the bastards. Anyone who knows me will know how out of character this kind of aggressive talk is but watch the video and tell me you don't feel the same.
Thanks to everyone else for your comments and support. I have a feeling that the video link wasn't working. I just had to post up the URL again. Once again, please be warned that the footage shown is gruesome and disturbing. NOT FOR SENSITIVE PEOPLE!!! |

| I'm already with you Chanti. I wouldn't wear a stich of fur on my body unless I happened to be holding my kitty Simon. There is no beauty in killing an animal so the rich can drape themselves in pelts. When I see fur coats, I see murder. This is a short, yet VERY dramatic statement in poetry my friend.
