Open window brings evening breeze,
Out in the dark, someone sees,
She lying peacefully in her bed,
Totally unaware of the dread.
A handsome man (or so it seems)
Steals, so quietly, through her dreams,
Then, by her bedside, his place he takes,
Feeling his presence, she suddenly wakes.
He gazes at her with hungry eyes,
She tries to scream but only sighs.
He whispers softly in her ear,
And she begins to tremble with fear.
Who is this man who wears a cape,
Who now is nibbling at her nape?
Skillfully, he penetrates a vein
And begins, her blood to drain.
Her blood, it flows like deep red wine
As ‘pon her body, he doth dine.
He lifts his head, the wine now drips
From his red, satiated lips.
As she gasps for her last breath,
He gives to her, his kiss of death.
Upon her pillow, he leaves a rose
To mark her beauty in sweet repose.
Then swiftly on this moonlit night,
He spreads his wings and takes his flight.
With next full moon, she will rise
To seek her own unsuspecting prize.
