So! You didn't know what U S A stands for.

U. S. A. (United Southerners of America)*

Yankee Doodle is not a dandy. (1)

Stop feeding us poison and calling it candy.

Where in the hell is Down South?

Different words come from every Yankee mouth.

At first, the South was below the Mason-Dixon Line. (2)

Damn Yanks re-define the line every time.

Southerners live in Mayberry and Pixley. (3)

Our favorite store has our slogan, "Winn-Dixie"!

Lo and behold, when the whole story is told,

The South is anywhere south of the North Pole.

There is no place better than the USA.

We live right here & here we’ll stay.

Yankee Doodle is not a dandy.

Stop feeding us poison and calling it candy.

The vanquished copped a ‘tude from the first battle, (4)

When we made dem blue belly Yanks skedaddle.

Generals Lee and Stand Tall Stone Wall were not traitors. (5)

Northerners are spoiled brats and race baiters.

The North vs. the South, even the NFL is divided this way.

College seniors play the game between the Blue and Gray.

The NBA gave us D Stern Test, (6)

By placing the Queen City of the South in the West.

The Southland is not a Bad Land.

Rub us the wrong way and we’ll make our stand.

Billy will do anything to win,

To keep the South from rising again.

Politically correct Yanks pout over the itsi-bitsy,

Killed Colonel Johnny Reb, the mascot at Mississippi.

The folks up there like to boast and brag,

About burning Georgia & lowering the Southern Flag. (7)

We don’t favor one cause over the other. **

One of our brothers fought against another.

Carpetbaggers don’t like to talk about race.

Yet, they wave the "bloody shirt" in our face. (8)

Yankee Presidents weren’t born in the USA.

We were born Down South, and the South is here to stay.

Yankee Doodle is not a dandy.

Stop feeding us poison and calling it candy.

Folks from the North, please state your case.

Southerners didn’t create the rap on race.

Racism is a northern phenomenon

That raced through the Gap at Cumberland. (9)

One thing you Yankees should know.

The Middle & Northern Colonies gave birth to Jim Crow. (10)

The media paints life down South in black and white,

Suggesting the existence of a never-ending fight.

We could care less about what you say.

We trust in the mighty USA,

Here we were born, and here we’ll stay!

*USA is the acronym United Southland of America and the people who live there.

**More than 50,000 Blacks served as Confederate soldiers in the War Between the States (1861-1865). More than 150,000 Black soldiers fought in the Union Army.

(1)          Yankee Doodle Dandy is the song "The Yankee Doodle Boy"--based loosely on the melody and lyrics of the Revolutionary War song "Yankee Doodle", which was performed in the 1942 Hollywood biopic by the same name.

(2)          Mason-Dixon Line, named after Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, was a 244 mile boundary line between Pennsylvania and Maryland, also including Virginia (West Virginia) and Delaware.

(3)          Mayberry and Pixley are locations in the situation comedies The Andy Griffith Show, Hooterville Junction and Green Acres.

(4)          The First Battle refers to 1st Bull Run or 1st Manassas, fought on July 21, 1861.

(5)          Stand Tall Stone Wall refers to Southern General Thomas Jackson.

(6)          D Stern Test refers to NBA Commissioner David Stern.

(7)          Lowering the Southern Flag refers to the action taken to signify the fall of a Southern site in the Civil War.

(8)          Waving the Bloody Shirt was a political ploy developed by Southern Democrats after 1865, where a blood-stained garment was used to identify the rape of a white female by a Black man.

(9)          Cumberland Gap is a path through the Appalachian Mountains where the states of Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia converge. More than 300,000 settlers passed through it before 1810.

(10)        Middle and Northern Colonies, along with the Southern Colonies, comprised the thirteen original English settlements in North America.
