“Every happy ending,

Is a new beginning.”

Author Unknown

He had defied the odds

Surviving a busy highway

He became a national celebrity

Little Rags has been adopted today

His story first unfolded on the local news

And it was soon being followed nationally

This tiny lost soul, racing down the highway

From rags to riches, would now be his destiny

Reporters and cameramen soon filmed his every move

At the animal hospital, they watched as he was examined

I had transported him to a very caring place, in the big city

His harrowing, death defying ordeal had now come to an end

And because of the national exposure, everyone now wanted him

We soon received over 250 requests to adopt this tiny lost celebrity

But I already knew in my heart where little Rags would find his hero

Recently on the news, the official announcement, of his new beginning

Every time that I’ve brought an injured or an emaciated canine to my veterinarian

I’ve always teased him that “This is surely the dog that you have been waiting for!”

And this time, after compassionately caring for little Rags after his harrowing ordeal

Dr. Stan soon decided to adopt him – little Rags will never lack a loving home anymore

Now if only those 250 other people who wanted him,

Will go to a shelter and adopt another homeless waif;

There are thousands of deserving dogs, just like Rags,

Waiting and hoping, that they too, will be rescued today.

Every happy ending,

Is a new beginning.

there you have it Mr. Ed, unfortunately those people were not altruistic it was to say look at the good deed I did by taking in little Rags. A truly altruistic soul would do as you said.

Excellent

It's wonderful to hear of a happy ending. Like you, I so hope that those other applicants will go to shelters across the country in search of a new friend.
Just because it isn't on the News, it doesn't mean that every other dog doesn't have a story of his or her own.
