blue panes

A bluesy poem of sadness filled with a heart full of pain.

blue panes

there's rainwater rolling
falling down my window pane;
they're just tears with no sunshine
dripping on my window sill
like drops of falling rain

i'm crying to a blue muse
singing a blues song
picking three blind chords
looking for an inner truth
serenading to the moon

the shack's rickety and worn
all that's got a man going
is a song and a feeling
living with these rainwater blues
looking out his windowpan

thinking and drifting
remembering when my girl
walked with me by the river
she was three months expecting
then the floodwaters came

all that remained
was the calm of the river
like glass upon my heart
looking out this window
a bead of light showing through

the rainwater rolls down
tears cascade down this cheek
fog stains my windows pane
a distant blue, remembering
a sunny day that's done gone

A beautifully crafted rendition of deep down blue pain...hope the golden sun replaces the blue, soon;-)

Joel, excellent. Your story is painted in many shades of blue.
