Old home place not the same
gravity and neglect tolls it's fate

I digress for succor with a wandering
eye possible options of escape for the
perfect healing getaway from well kept
secret in wonderment of the Seychelles
Islands for aqua clear waters tapping
damp sand that beckons me contentment

In my heightened state a seagull
squawks casting carefree shadows
on my beach blanket in warm gentle
breezes leaning on one elbow staring
at the pages of my half-read book
amid swaying palm fronds uninhibited

Dreamy vacation your mind set for
one's interior restoration tasking
application of happiness with endless
options if you can but sense the natural
diversity in wonders of real adventure
not for rent, but to own

To rent or to own the possibility of living in an exotic location like The Seychelles? Rent I think. You have captured the ennui of a beach holiday really well here with your lines: "leaning on one elbow staring at the pages of my half-read book" Trust me, those white sand beaches are OK. For a while....

Travel or renovate. Now that's an option? It's a dilemma I'm glad I don't have to deal with, plunking money down on this humble hovel so I can vacation with backyard drama.

Based on your poem, I think I know which option you took.
