Always Waiting

Each day I wait
anxiously
longingly
hoping
that this will be the day
that the doorbell will chime
or the phone will ring
that you will come up
and whisper in my ear
that you are here
and it is finally time
and you could be my true love
or you could be my dreams
or you could be Death
only I know
which one I write about
and wish for
at this moment
waiting a lifetime to embrace you
always waiting…

I have been SO busy, touring, etc., and it's going to get much worse before the year is over, but just had to pop in and say "hello dahlinks"!!

Love to you all!! ;O)

The poem is highly emotional. It shows an intense feeling of love and the enxiety involve, in the walting? There is the uncertainty as in- you could be my true love/my dreams/my death. But there may certainty as well. This shows in- only I know/ which one I write about. It also encompasses in it the hope to embrace the loved one or indeed the loved thing - the desire of her heart.

loved this poem, it is deeply introspective and yet reflects thoughts familiar to most of us.
"dahlinks???" that is simply sooo Zsa Zsa Gabor dahling. When Janet comes over I'll teach her to do that "clipped" English upper class accent and she can pass it on, but for now try this. "Dahling I lohve yoh!"
Absolutlah simple isn't it, yah? No? - oh well.

Hi Caryn:

Sop glad to have you back!!!!! Great poem! Yes, we poets are very expressive. I'd rather read an expressive poet than to read forced form of structure without feelings.
