Time for change...

You don’t see me

You only see my surface

Should you deign to glance upon it

You don’t know me

To you, I am a marionette

To do your bidding as you pull my strings

You don’t value me

My loyalty goes unheeded

Whilst you tend your selfish desires

You don’t favour me

To you, I am second best

A deviant to your lofty ideals

You don’t cherish me

You use misery and sorrow

To bully my tattered heart

You don’t love me

Your cruelty knows no bounds

You find too much pleasure in my pain

You don’t need me

I am sorry for them but

There are others you can torment.

So sadly, far too many now seem to find pleasure in another's pain today.

Ruan,
For those who have felt this type of violation, you give vent to their built up pain in this well versed work.

Oh my! This rings of violation. What odds produced such words, I know them. It takes one having been a 'marionette' to see one who has been a 'marionette' and appreciate first-hand, these ills. Thank you. ~~ Diana

For the narcissist only cares for them-self and has no concern for another. If you have experienced this, it would be very painful.

Sad, and familiar refrain, Ruan, and if this is a "truism," I am sorry for it, but happy you are bequeathing the pain and sorrow to someone else.
