What’s Your Story?
Each one of us has a story, which we could tell,
Most keep it a secret in their heart to dwell,
Few come out to tell it, afraid others may laugh,
While some say it’s not worth telling, taking the quiet path,
I look at people passing by and wonder what tale could you impart,
What secrets are tucked away deep within your heart,
Your face has no expression, neither sad nor glad,
What sort of hand has life dealt you, was it good or bad,
Here comes a jaunty fellow wearing a cheeky grin,
It’s fairly easy to read his mind, and what dwells within,
He’s enjoying every precious moment of each passing day,
Full of fun and humour, he passes merrily on his way,
A dear old grey haired lady, slowly treads along life’s road,.
She’s seen many defeats, many troubles and sad woes,
Hard times have left their etchings on her wrinkled face.
She’s had many battles along life’s hard long and weary race,
So many many people, all with stories they could tell,
All with different tales of life, that within them dwell
I often wonder as I watch all that passing throng,
What’s Your Story will it be reflected in your face , as life goes on

| I think this is a very interesting idea. People have this habit of reading biographies and autobiographies of great people but the fact is that there is as much to be learnt from the lives of ordinary people if only everyone were to share their life's story. It is said that wise men learn from the mistakes of others and fools from their own. So one can learn from other people's experiences to avoid history repeating itself. All your ideas are like social issues, John. Great thinking. |

Good question, and I love the poem.
Yes, we all have a story to tell. I wonder if we would learn more, if those stories were told. Just maybe no one would listen. |
