A Poem

Feast Of Life

By Ashraf Gohar Goreja

You will be tracing that bemused love
Which you during the last spring
Perplexed in your confused mind
For you were not sure if it will ever
Bloom in the valleys of your
Crumbling, trembling arid heart.
Once the spring will blush your cheeks again
To delight your fading thoughts
You will look beautiful to betray again
To some perfidious and naive soul
Who might spend frivolously
The spring of his blooming youth
In bewilderment of your changing world
That has no beginning or the end
Like the shadows of auspicious garden
Of violets that look enthralling in the day
And at night, the fierce winds
Turn the beauty into a despairing
And a desolated wilderness.

When the spring of your life will be over
And you will be passing through
The hushed valley of your fading world
You would look back for the last time
To envision the festivities of your life
You will perceive only the fiesta of deep sorrows
And darkening silhouette of your bemused love.

Echoes the cruel tortures of false love and overweening pride and how life is wasted through lack of honesty. Very deep and powerful, worthy of revisiting by those of us searching for truth. Thank you for sharing this.

How tragic! Wonderfully thought provoking poem.

A feast indeed, with a banquet that offers too much...

May you sample only the best, Ashraf.

Ashraf...this is a deeply moving meditation
on the fragility of love as displayed by the
youthful pride of wantoness. I love the way
you compared this part of life to seasons.
It goes in my library. And I salute you!

Whoa! I thought the fall of my life, instead of the spring, would be my time of reflection. It is, but it also is still a time of discovery :)! Well done.
