A stoned Ed Matlack tripped and fell
Into the vacant boulevard
Ed jammed his feet against the curb
And there he fell fast asleep
Upon the building's roof were stoned gawkers gawking
They, one and all, begged the sleeping Ed
Don't jump, don't jump, don't jump

A fellow we all know as Ed,
Was so stoned he thought he was dead.
He sat there blinking,
Without any thinking,
Until the smoke cleared from his head.

Thank you for sharing your wit and humor, Jerry... ...a most apt "ode" for Ed. Best wishes,

Regis

I'm still trying to figure out how Ed got from the Boulevard to the roof… Nevermind, my pea brain figured it out.

Ha ha ha, is this a poster child for this poem?
I can see it all now! But I am not one of the stoned gawkers.

This was hilarious Jerry, great write :)

Jerry,
I hope Ed appreciated this one as much as I did.
