True as can be from the 1970's well as was said in the movie "give or take a lie or two"

Nelson, Kat and Me, we three
some may think a strange family.
But we all get along fine
canine, feline and big humine.
A girl I began to see
came on over sans phoning me.
While we three began to dine
she stood at the door opine.
There sat I with plate of feed
Nelson at my feet full of greed.
Kat standing tall in her chair
bowl on table nibbling her fare.
I called come on in we're here
she did so and sat over there.
But could not adjust to us
so it's Nelson, Kat, Me we three.

Sounds very familiar to me, my friend. It took a very long time for me to find a woman who could adjust to my furry family.

Absolutely Saturday Evening Post worthy. Now, for all us youngish ones, too young at heart to forget we used to read the mag, and too old to admit it, we'll have to be satisfied with a cyberworld page. Still, wouldn't a rest home bulletin board love this tacked up to remind them it isn't over til it's over?

Now that is what I call “cute.” Reminds me of the time I dated an elderly “daddy's girl.” She invited me into her garage apartment that also contained her two Siamese cats. The place had a strange smell to it and I couldn't get the fine cat hairs out of my suit when I left the place.

I had no desire to date her again. I still love animals but won't keep a cat.

Ah! one can almost judge another by the
actions of their pets...as I often do
*Budd* so, I really enjoyed your poem

awww, was she allergic to the animals Budd?
I have never met a person who dislikes animals
but I am sure aside from allergies there are
people who are not into animals :(
what a shame they are so priceless in their love
& affections.

Your better off without her. Someone who cannot adjust to animals....well thats a red flag.

Thank you for inviting us into your home of plenty good life. I enjoyed this poem, the creation of "humine" and the nitty gritty of it all. I feel like I've looked in your window! ~~ Diana

There are very few people, Budd, who will love us just the way we are. Animals, on the other hand, have no lofty expectations. Who we are is just fine by them.
People could learn a lot about real love if they bothered to really look at their pets.

Pets are people too but sometimes even nicer when the day is through.
Ladies may greet with a smile but a pet is good company all the while.
Amen!
