Rays of light,
Befall your sullen face,
And I ponder,
To forgive you,
As I pray in return,
To be forgiven,
Deep inside,
The guilt moulds,
Tornadoes that falter,
To break out,
But lay obscure,
I wonder,
How to endure?

Dear Esra,
My interest in you and your work came about after I recently heard you speak with Mishal Hussain (?) on Talking Point (BBC World). I was extremely impressed when I heard you speak on TV the other day and actually resolved to get in touch with you. So here I am.
I am more impressed after reading your biography and knowing that your talent and your eloquence is complemented by deep religious values and backed by a lovely family.
I have growing ties with Turkey and Istanbul in particulary (ties that are waxing and waning painfully) but I do love Turkey and MY Istanbul.
In the coming few days / weeks I do hope to lay my hands on some of your work and read it. I would also like to share with you sometime, some of the poems that I have written.
Please do write to me if you have a few moments to spare. My e-mail address is ShabbirIsmailSait.yahoo.com.
Warm Regards
Shabbir Ismail
