Deep Inside

Deep within this heart of mine
A rhythm beats in tune to thine
A brand new spirit grows within
Innocence of truth, devoid of sin.

Deep inside is the hope of tomorrow
Today this soul erases all sorrow
Precious child in the depths of me
My happiness visible for all to see

The future’s uncertain, so hard to predict
But there is such joy at the very first kick.
The hope that you bring with you today
Fills the void, sending my anguish away.

Pain at birth, I’ll not deny.
You made me scream; you made me cry.
Quickly forgotten by all of your charms
When I held you tenderly within my arms.
