Even when we know someone is not good for us, we still sometimes vacillate in deciding whether to leave them or stay.


The poet rides recessive tides/
tangled in regret-filled thoughts/
stuck between hope & despair/
torn between yore & fresh air.....

Exactly, how many of us remain suffocating in the stench, when there is fresh air so easily there to be breathed.

in particular, the final one - that use
of 'fresh air' is telling and strong
