Gwendolyn A. Thomas Gath from the worksofgath

Print publication written decades ago and is number two in the series of "The Nation Cries" however the contents and meaning still holds true here in our present/future. Most importantly there is hope for this world through the uniting of hearts, through the uniting of prayers, and through the wisdom of a higher and greater spiritual guide than some may like to profess.

An excerpt:

"Our nation cries

Can anyone hear

Our people are struggling

They’re living in fear

Let's raise from the dust

Of which we’ve all come from

Realizing now that we are of one..."

Beautiful write! I completely agree. It is so important that people become aware and active in being part of the solution and not part of the problem.

A wonderful and sincere write Gwendolyn, and I also agree, there is so much hatred and violence in this world and it breaks my heart everytime I watch the news and see how we are destroying each.
May God Bless and protect the innocent.

An outstanding write Gwen
true the masquerade is over
now we should all be ourselves
be one nation under God
before it starts splinttering
or looking like broken pottery
In the eyes of the rest of the world.
Peace be with you

A fitting depiction of my nation and longings of its underclass. Thank you, Gwen, for bringing it up in your usual compassionate way.

The industrialists of wars are jesting with Congress and Executive Office; building SALVEYARDS and Concentration Camps on leased lands from Communist country; and the nation needs to build six million low income houses... "The Nation Cries", but most of us follow those that think that freedom is a license for murdering and assassination.

I have learned and enjoyed the reading of "The Nation Cries".

I salute You, Poet.

In admiration,
