(A poem dedicated to the untold friends who have taken turns getting me through days without my recently passed wife, my precious Laura Jean. This list is just a few of the amazing friends I dedicate this poem to: Marie Ainsworth, Vickie and Ronnie Carlton, Wayne and Stacey Chapman, Sunshine and Ron Charrier, Danny Cole, Chris Coleman, Brandi Eubanks, Elizabeth Hailey, Brent and Krishae Humphries, Kevin and Jessica Humphries, Jake Keen, Melissa Miller, Kaci Sharp, Randy Sharp, and of course, today's messenger from God: Laura Keen. There are many others, and I thank you all.)

My heart is in a padded room
reserved for love's insane.
My hopes are fading into doom
on death's relentless train.
All seems lost without my wife;
my world came crashing to an end.
Darkness casts a wicked lure
to those without a friend.
I am not that poor lonely soul
left broken on life's path.
God sends to me friends untold
to soften darkness's wrath.
Every day, with mercies, new,
there are places hope can lean.
Today that place of refuge
was God's angel: Laura Keen.

One can sense the utter dispair within your heart at such a devastating loss. There are many standing by your side and God is there to carry you through such a difficult time. Always remember your angel...
Be always safe,

I'm sorry for your loss, Eddie. A lovely write of compassion and borrowed strength - from Above and through friends who help to get you through. Well penned.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. |
