Very strong and passionate lines. I'm moved by the way
profound gratefulness and consuming anger blend together
showing the multifaceted experience of human feelings.

Jeff,
The flame she brought to you opened your soul, for life is short lived, but yet eternity awaits us, we are here to touch others and I know Deanna did this for you, she has given you a lasting gift, though brief, she will always remain, use it wisely and with god-given wisdom, I loved this write as I love all of your poems and songs, Take care Blessings' Valerie |

"for I am flight of flame; wings unfolded... to immeasurable breadth... because of you;
I am risen in your memory..."
Surely little more perfect has been or can be written than the agonising throes of soul and spirit that you pen here, Jeff. This is tribute, elegy and catharsis, all so seamlessly interwoven and with such balance and control amidst the pain. This precious lady has given you life in your inner being and to the depth of your core and its full impact has yet to be seen, experienced and lived. You have been blessed beyond measure and nothing will be able to take from you what will ultimately be gained. I am broken by your tragic loss and yet in awe of the preciousness of the gift which few will ever be able to hope for, let alone attain. I'm awed. Thank you for the privilege of being able to share this with you. May you continue this unsought journey knowing that eventually there will be beauty from the ashes. With love, Kate xx |
