This Rose Will Never Die
You’ve always been a loner
With your own point of view
But the people all around
Aren’t a part of you
You hold your own thoughts
Within yourself, never letting go
And Heaven can weep
For the child with dreamless sleep
Like a river that overflows
Only you, God and Heaven knows
What you live for
What you give for
But they try to
Take it away
You’ve always been a dreamer
Of bizarre fantasies
You’ve never been a schemer
Of tragedies
But they never believe you
They try to deceive you
Try to take your mind away
And Heaven can weep
For the child with dreamless sleep
Like a river that overflows
Only you, God and Heaven knows
Only you can make them smile
Only you can tell them why
Only you can make them laugh
And, only you can make them cry
Only you, God and Heaven knows
What you live for
What you give for
But they try to
Take it away
