This is for my Dad. A response to his poem written last year on Peter J Oszmann’s Authors Den site “ Andrea’s Pearls Too.” Thank You for being my Dad

Daddy’s Girl

Will I always be daddy’s little girl?

With dimples and hair that curls

‘Cos when I look in the mirror I see

A grown woman looking back at me

While I grew up I looked up to you

Into your deep, dark eyes

Your smile would say it all

And your words were always wise

I will always look up to you

Not just because I’m only 5ft 2

And of what we’ve been thorough

But because I really love you

I will always be daddy’s little girl

With dimples and hair that curls

For on the outside we all grow older

While inside we stay young forever

If I am daddy’s little girl

And you say I’m your little pearl

Does that make you an oyster?

To my “Pearl”

Wow! What can an oyster say to a pearl?
You’re my little girl, my sweet little girl.
But as the girl into fair woman grew,
Remember always to thyself be true.
Be a free spirit without any chain,
Although a woman, sweet girl to remain,
Who is cute, sweet, clever, cheeky and smart,
Forever to reside inside my heart;
A special place there ever to enjoy…
...My sweet little girl my pride and true joy…

Thank you for being my daughter!

Lots of love from your old Pops…

Also thanks for your comments under my last posting… you cheeky little…

Yes!!! If only all us who are Dad could earn such super sentiments! I am sure the oyster will always give security to the pearl! Well done, Andrea! Your thoughts are true gems.
