Just a Thought

Once in the bath

Twice in the rain

This commuting lark

Will never change

London Bridge or Charing Cross

Doesn’t matter which

I’m totally lost

Yesterday a holiday

I had my sanity

Back to routine

Back to insanity

London Bridge or Charing Cross

Don’t matter which

This commuting larks

Given me a nervous twitch

Same people, same places

Same look, same faces

Spare a cell for the poor commuter

Straight jacket, purple pills and a new computer

For everything’s computerised

Look at him, he’s got digital eyes

And him, he’s got the Times

A crossword and he gets the signs

No FT, no comment

No train, an advent

I’m laughing it off in my padded cell

This commuting lark can go to hell

Gotta love and hate routine. Sometimes it drives me crazy, others times its comforting. Nicely written.

I, too, began hating that humdrum boring routine commute - they can truly drive one crazy.
