Frolicking Sheep

Before I go to sleep

I have to count my sheep

But there’s one who’s bad

That can upset me and make me sad

Number 22 is a right royal pain

My loss is number 22’s gain

Where is number 22?

What is that sheep up to?

A sheep in wolf’s clothing

No doubt up for cloning

The black sheep of the family

Is my sheep with you or me?

Whenever I send my sheep to Coventry

Number 22’s in another vicinity

Number 22, the bane of my life

If I wasn’t a veggie, that sheep would be under my knife

Before I go to sleep

I have to count my sheep

I count from 1 to 21 and 22’s not there

I am more than patient, and always fair

So I begin again at 23 keeping my eyes shut

Why’s 22 always such a pain in the butt?

You; yes you, number 22

Have you an answer, give me a clue

Why can’t you just play the game?

Instead of being such a pain

Why can’t you just follow the other sheep?

And give me a decent night’s sleep?

I hope you receive your decent night's sleep in the knowledge that 22 IS safe and sound - and serving drinks to a dear friend!

Delightful, Andrea. Does counting sheep actually put one to sleep? I've never tried it. You've got me thinking now. Thank you. Love and peace to you. Regis

hahahaha...are you sure you don't fall asleep before you get to 22???

My hubby is such a fast sleeper he never ever even gets to two!!

Because he is out on his feet before he gets to bed!!

I like this it is cute and whimsical and leaves me wondering what the Number 22 signifies to you, special age, special friend, unknown to me special sexual position (just kidding) or just a mumber out of the blue. Regardless this is a special poem Andrea.
