No Moon Tonight

An eerie silence has enveloped the land

An inky blackness; as if painted by hand

But there is no moon tonight

Just stars emitting their light

I dream of love tonight

You, next to me, holding me tight

But there is no moon tonight

Only glimmering stars in flight

Sleeping, desiring, dreaming

Iridescent moon beams gleaming

How can there be no moon tonight?

When I yearn for love to unite

And in-between the inky blackness

I dream of eternal happiness

Still, there’s no moon on this cold night

To uplift me from my beleaguered plight

Prove me wrong

Make me belong

Cling on to me

Don’t control me

Give me energy

Share our synergy

So there will be no moon tonight

A void, an emptiness, I can not fight

Always suffuse me

Never refuse me

With the love you imbue

Tenderness anew

Banish the black

Don’t hold back

And yet, there’s no moon tonight

I’ll save my love for another night

There may not be a moon but the stars still guide the universe and cupid still dances amongst the stars. I think he will hear this cleverly disguised request and put you in your lovers arms where you belong...with or without the moon. Wonderful write Andrea Felix
