So Hard

So hard to accept
That you aren't thinking about me anymore.
It almost makes me want to stop thinking about you.
But you're there.
In my thoughts.
Everyday as I go through the motions
Pretending that I've gotten over you.
Knowing that no matter what I do
or where I go
You're still there in my mind.
Everything I see reminds me of you.
Did we touch everyting
the short time we were together?
The sunny days, flying kites, eating ice cream cones
Kisses hello, kisses goodbye
Snuggles in between.
Somehow nothing seems quite right if you're not there too.

I'll make it somehow
I'll learn to get over you.
I've got to stop thinking of all the things that make me happy
And all the things I love
And you at the same time.

What good are memories
If they only bring tears to my eyes,
But what good is tomorrow
If it only reminds me
that you are really gone.

Aww, so hauntingly sad but beautiful at the same time. Nice work, Laurie!
