An Earth Day Challenge by Mr. Ed. This could be people, places or even things that cannot be viewed by eye.

Fact is, that I am here

On the tip of your finger

Is the essence of small packages

That become great.

My fight, first and foremost,

Was to get here and be now.

Welcome tortoise and you. You are here and I hear you and you can become great. Existance is truly being there.

This is just TOO cute! Small things make a huge impact in how they are resilient even moreso that those things whom we see as great on the outside--but have no substance of history on the inside. Unlike this adorable turtle, it represents a nation or ages, and a species of resilience.

Humans should be so fortunate--just knowing we represent greatness--and believing it to rise above our "smallness."

Much love and where can I get one of those little darlings to adopt? (smile)

What a amazing string of words you've strung! Reminded me of every baby born. The most challenging event in the life of any human born in this new millenium is first and foremost...to get here and be.
Breath-taking photo!

"Small Packages" just became one of my favorite poems Pier.

Pier, an eloquent way to illustrate that everything great started out small. The photo is wonderful. Thanks for sharing this.

The picture doesn't display, but your eloquence makes that unimportant, Pier.

"My fight, first and foremost/Was to get here and be now." is a genius line. I also like the idea of a baby tortoise speaking to us in an adult, factual manner that most humans aren't capable of--especially given the fact that we're wiping out most of the "lower" animal kingdom.
