Reminiscing about a Summer love.

He missed her on the first day of summer,
He was afraid he might not see her again.
It would be a long hot season without her,
How he wished they could be friends.
He missed her on the first day of summer,
He longed for what she had meant to him,
He longed for a love and a friend.
Warm summer days and fair skies
Had made him stop and realize,
That the first day of summer without her
Was not as happy as it might have been.
