My eyes
Are artists of my brain
To paint my mind
With every stroke of wave
Among the clouds
Blooming on an azure sky.
The sway of trees
The blowing leaves
And all that moves
In Nature's grace -
With color and shape
That make
My heart vibrate
With applause.
Over there
300 yards or less
Is where
The wind's a play
In golden leaves
That flip and flounce
At bay
In a breeze
That breathes free.
Were I only
20% the size of me
Hugging a bough
In their midst
I'd sing a solo
To the accompaniment
Of the rhythms
The joys cascading
In cadence
Of the symphony
Swelling from Autumn's dance.
But I am not there~
I'm here
Thrilling, watching,
From my window.
