We are sometimes obsessed with a form of knowledge that requires proof.
But we can never be sure without our feelings.
You seem to be drawn to the pleasant game of alliterations lately... :)
I especially like those "prying looks prising cracks /in private slatted blinds", quite expressive!

| I think of the mammoth florescent green moth (I don't know its species) I found once upon my door post. It's antennae (feelers) were exceptionally long and looked exactly like fragile, intricate, feathers. I could image that little creature feeling the changes in temperature, feeling pollen in the air, and even feeling my scrutiny. I have felt the soul of another (my beloved husband) in such a way-- so I relate deeply with this poem. We hate the prying eyes and probing fingers "in our brain" of those who haven't earned their entrance there, but the mental, emotional, and spiritual intimacy you describe as "warm fibrillating filaments in the feather of your soul" is the closest we will ever get to heaven on earth. |
