This piece seems to be somewhat veiled...yet to me had a sense of melancholy to it--of someone burning the midnight oil and "waxing" philosophical during the insomnia of the wee hours of the morning. I know that feeling well... hee, hee.. maybe that is why I got that sense from your poem. AT any rate, I loved the last two lines and the sense of hope they give to the reader.

Kate,
The opening line is magnet and everything after that hooks and holds and we travel to where you send us, not just across "far countries sleeping..." but the universe itself, and where we finally come together as one. Oh yes!

Wow, sweet Kate, this one really spoke deeply to me. I sensed a certain longing for love...distant love perhaps, either separated by those tendrils of miles or the frontiers of time. Either way you outdid yourself and left so much for mind and heart to ponder.
