Like a YoYo

My heart goes up and down like a yoyo
Being flipped and dangled by her emotions.
Does she love me today or unsure of me
Should I call her or would she rather I not.
Up and down I go
Like a yoyo.

She says she wants me and can’t live without me
She says she loves me but can’t be with me.
Dinner tomorrow has been cancelled
Yet the letters she writes to me are poetry.
Up and down I go
Like a yoyo.

Why does she write to me such amazing words
When in reality she won’t follow her feelings for me.
Passionate kisses are given
As bodies become one and then get pushed away.
Up and down I go
Like a yoyo.

Why do I stay around if she won’t love me back?
Is my love for her strong enough to endure?
Be mine she says over the phone
Leave me alone she says in person.
Up and down I go
Like a yoyo.

The string to my heart must be made of wire
Because it just won’t break or let go.
It takes her leaving me before I realize
We were doomed from the start because I tried.
Up and down I go
Like a yoyo.
