Feeling empty and alone
While walking without nets
On this tightrope of love.
Silent chills of wondering
Freeze my mind
From asking you why.
Why aren’t you here with me?
Emotional breakdown
Or purposeful act of abandonment?
All I know
Is that inside this cold space
Is no place---to be.
Love can’t warm past memories
Without new ones it seems.
Keep pushing me away
And I soon won’t know what to say.
I won’t know you.
Something is missing in this silent abyss
And togetherness now seems just a wish.
Thoughts pounding on the inside of my skull
Numb my love, make me dull.
Maybe I cared too much too soon?
But how does someone suppress
The need to caress.
The need to love
The wanting to be loved.
All I know
Is that inside this cold space
Is no place—to be.
Eyes that once sparkled and shined
Now only glimmer occasionally
In anticipation of your return.
When will I learn?
Mountains of ice
Block the warmth of nice.
For one so young
It seems a costly price.
Maybe it’s time to move on
And write you off or say so long.
Call it a lesson learned
And maybe that will stop the burn.
My past memories
I must constantly face.
But all they do
Is reinforce my present place.
And as time moves on
All I know is all that I know.
That inside this cold space
Is no place--- to be.

These lines are excellent.
Right from my heart

| David, this is one of the best I have read from you. Love how you bring it all back around with "All I know is all that I know. That inside this cold space is no place -- to be." |

Dear Dave,
I am so choked up at the raw emotion penned in this poem, these feelings can only come from a very soft and tender soul, words spoken from the heart. It is truly heartbreaking when one is feeling so low and down.
"That inside this cold space
Is no place--- to be.' < <-- No one, likes to be in a place like this !! and I know that some of us are.
May the bright warm lights of the rainbow, encompass you, and gently warm upon your soul.
"Inside this warm space
Is the place - you want to be" Take care :):)
Warm hugs
Elga ;)
