Clairvoyance

Today, in my mind, I stood alone
at the edge of the universe
and looked into the infinite, wordless wisdom -

Coming back
towards earth, always
awed by its colors
this gift hung by God in the night sky
about the size of my hand -
glad to call it home from this distance.

Closer, more cluttered
now the creatures of earth
the buildings and the roads
and compassion replaces awe -

I wish to fill the universe with
this compassion and bring the clarity
from the edge of the universe
But I cannot.

In the garden, so much lost -
until I look into the face of the first spring flower.

This beautiful poem takes me to the same place I go, cradled in a special world created through meditation, while sitting in the late afternoon at a place I call "sky ridge."
