WINTER STINKS.

Be Gone!… Be gone!… Ye Rexpitall*…

Cold Night Shadow… Death of Fall

Grass once green …trees so tall…

Thy stinging frost doth cover all.

Thou Hated Trespasser ….Thou Beast of Chill …

thy freezing winds…all good things kill.

Ye shall not stay! …. nor rule our day!…

for Spring doth come to tame.

And Summer shall follow quickly… to end to your frost filled reign.

Rather enjoyed this one, John. When I was young I liked nothing better than to test myself against the intense cold of deepest winter on mountain climbs. There was something about trying to survive the worst Ma Nature could throw at me on a 14,000 foot summit in December that piqued my senses and since I had tons of youthful reserves available to command, the whole experience had a palpably cathartic impact on me. Now, as an old lion in winter, I seem to have switched poles and rather more relish a warm fire in the hearth with my dogs at my feet, as the winter solstice enshrouds us all with its crystalline whiteness. All part, I suppose, of the natural rhythm of the life experience, but at least it gives us subjects to prosaically air-out. Nice one, John. Aloha mai e, Kalikiano
