Awake! for Morning in the Bowl of Night
Has flung the Stone that puts the Stars to Flight:
And Lo! the Hunter of the East has caught
The Sultan's Turret in a Noose of Light.

Omar Khayyam

............................................................................................

Your smile beams like sunlight, on a swallow's wing

and the breeze and clouds, dance after you

as we walk hand in hand, along the white sandy beach

I can feel my essence, fragile in your loving hands

for I have never felt, like this ever before

the ringed plovers, race after the swirling surf

searching for molluscs, along the wild sea shore

while my eyes are transfixed, by your overpowering presence

the divine music of love, is oscillating within my atoms

for these heartfelt moments, will never come again

and we are touched, by a power we can't comprehend

I feel your warm fingers, locked into mine

take care with my heart, for she is made of glass

the tanged perfume of the seaweed, floods my being and soul

and you are all, that matters to me in this world

Sir Peter the catcher of moments ...

I saw in my minds eye, you, with a butterfly net catching a most delightful moment in time. And guess what?

"oscillating within my atoms" has got to be one of the most unique images I have read in a while. What a spectacular confirmation of love for your one and only. Like fine wine flowing over the pallet.

Light and wisdom ...

'the tanged perfume of the seaweed, floods my being and soul'

The first scent that stirs my senses when I arrive on the Isle of Arran is the gorgeous smell of seaweed. Ah, if only that could be bottled - eaten right enough - but bottled.
This idyllic poem translated me from my London home back to the beach at Morar rather than Arran. Beautiful white sands that seem to stretch beyond the horizon. You've given me waves of imagery to surf upon, Peter. Do I exaggerate? Reading this and looking at the image - why does Jura come to mind also - supplied makes me pine for home. No I don't exaggerate.

'for these heartfelt moments, will never come again'

I hope the sentiments of this line don't ring true with me just yet.

Thanks for taking me along the shore.
