Cupids at Play

With these hearts we toy,

 and filled with joy,

We'll laugh with mirth at lovers' follies,

for Cupids we are,

flying high and far to strike with our arrows.

Capricious little Angels, are they? I hope they play with you!

Loved its brevity and its image of the cute little archers doing what they do best: playing with human hearts and laughing at our follies with joyful mirth. I don't harbour any bitterness about being one who deserved their mirth due to the (h)arrowing after effects of two "first fine careless raptures"! Why not? Because they got it right the third time!

This one , despite (or because of) its brevity and whimsical tone, is deserving of deep reflection.
Good one, Gina.
