Look Homeward
The time goes fast,
the time until I return,
to the sun,
and wind,
rain
and you.
The dark cavern
of the spirit
is not forever long.
I can see the end.
The water above,
the water below,
hold no fears.
I know that God is watching.
To keep the world whole,
is our task.
And to bring grim revenge
if we should fail.
It is sad to think of men,
being so foolish,
but they are.
So I am here,
and you are home,
safe and secure,
waiting for my return.
