~ Firelight Reflections ~

The falling rain

bounced the streetlights

against the dark window

then sliding down

 in raindrops

Inside the mood was mellow

my wine glass capturing

flickering firelight

within its crimson depth

to mingle with shadows

With a gently swirl

getting lost inside

the reflections

Letting my mind drift

in brief incomplete views

that quickly flee

My mood inviting in

only pleasing memories

Images caught

in fragmented vignettes

playing across my mind

It was a night

when a soft rainfall

invited only

gentle reflections

the gentle touch the psyche receives from raindrops in sensuous cascade down the window pane -- romance is enlisted and the accompaniment of wine's amorous glow reflects our mood in the stemmed glass -- yes, yes, yes! -- you describe the time and place we have all visited on many forays, with great pleasure -- so, "play it again, Carole" -- your poem is almost enchanting Carole -- bravo!-- my dear friend -- so pour me a glass of gentle raindrops and white zinfandel, if you please much, joy, peace and love to you -- Jon Michael

Carole,
This has the atmosphere of a calm, contemplative evening, "a soft rainfall" and the mood mellow. Very fine.
