A Soft Place To Land

Sometimes you just need sanctuary...

I’ve been far too long
in the wildwood,
stumbling in the brambles
with blackberry-stained fingers
and thorn-scratched skin

I need a soft place to land
in the lee of someone’s arms
The texture of cool, green grass
The colors of blue water
and liquid sun

The arms of a good friend is an especially soft place to land. Well crafted LG.

I love your metapors. So much room for the reader's imagination to roam. I love that you keep it short and simple. My kind of poet. :)

And thank you so much for your kind words on my outpourings.

One of the best romantic poems I've read in a long, long time. Its beauty is in its simplicity that says to much. BRAVO poet.

Your descriptive lines here are perfect and not only origianal but so real that the reader wants to say: "Come let me comfort you and rest gentley until you are strong enough to continue life's journey."
