Rest your weary head on me,
My precious little friend.
I'll always be right here for you,
Friends until the end.

This was neat to do. Great idea LG.

She rests her head upon his back
and strokes his silky hair,
his heartbeat calms, her touch reassures,
their embrace, something beautiful and rare.

While others rush along their way
and miss the joy of finding
that one bright moment when life stands still
and our cares begin unwinding

these two reached out and took a chance
when they might have looked the other way
we all could learn a lesson here
we still have time today.

Hey, there...I have trouble writing a poem in a box like these provided for our comments, but I loved the chance to try. Thanks for the exercise. Carol

Feelings

The only difference between the feelings
of any living thing
is how deeply they're felt

The only thing that matters
is the good they bring.

Beauteous gifts of love’s innate tenderness;
Embrace these wings to fly;
Soar like the bounty of empyrean heavens;
Through you I reach the elevations of the sky...

He finds it in an unsuspecting creature,
Where he satisfies the need for both.

We human beings can learn so much
From the so called 'lower creatures'
They'll accept each other, willingly
Regardless of any differing features

Ain't that sweet, a monkey and a dove,
Two diff'rent creatures, but much in love!
Oh, if we could learn from them, learn to see,
Pure, sweet love: a gift from the heavenlies!

That's my poem for the year! :) (Don't do poetry; I write stories! LOLOLOL)

Well done, Lin; I love it!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

i find I'm often blind to love;
like, when I find it difficult to know
when a donkey's really a burrow
or, for that matter, when a monkey is a dove.

Love knows no bound'ries.
If animals know this, why
can't man learn from them?

((((HUGS)))) and love, Karla.

(Well done, Lin. Adorable image.)

Such is the true spirit of love,
even creatures small,
share this gift from above,
transcend, species, barriers, and all.

Ahhh my little white angel of the sky, I but dream of you and sigh,
you could make me do or die, make me laugh or make me cry, I know you think I am a clown, and at my antics often frown, but I still love you anyway, fly me to heaven with you some day....

There once was a monkey in love
In love with a beautiful dove
She was his best friend
From beginning to end
Now they both smile from above

I chose to do a limerick. Thank you for the inspiration. Love and best wishes,

Pals

Friendship springs from
the most unlikely of places.
All it requires is
a common cause, or
a common need.

Ibid and Angelo
were as unlikely as they come,
but they were pals
united in the need for
just a bit of warmth
on a cold city street.
