Spitting Fire: Journal entry

Echoed heartbeats tap a code against the pavement.  In the deserted streets scrubbed clean by pounding rain, there are light reflections-dizzying pools of green and red.  How does one read the signs?

The cackle of crows while the sun still strained through the clouds pulled at my consciousness. I know it was a warning or maybe a reprimand.  But I closed the door in irritation at their persistent rail.

In my loneliness I go within to breathe words when utterance is silenced and I hunger for oxygen. Poetry doesn’t fit-sentences chopped and words dropped to feed the rhythm-as my thoughts flow in veins too fast for brevity.

The storm blows epileptic bamboo leaves against my window. Paradise trees (the neighborhood scourge) are flattened and bloated with rain. Sometimes I become clumsy and raw-mouthed from holding my peace, reluctant to rattle the bones. Instead of a calm relating of my feelings and needs, I spit fire when the dam breaks. One of my less desirable personality traits.

The mirage without is only a mirror which reflects the storm going on within our own internal boundaries. This conflict within ourselves must be healed before peaceful co-existence can become reality and the collective sigh of humanity is abated.

Tonight when you’re tempted to repeat the day’s events in your head and rail bitterly like the crows-gather the negative thoughts and turn them to prayer. Breathe deeply and release destructive tension.

Whatever your spiritual leanings, tonight send thoughts of positive intent out into the world. This uplifting energy will help heal ourselves as well as the earth. We are connected and our thoughts are transmitted on invisible currents. They have a very real power.

Linda,
This is a passionate exploration of self and the creative process; I'm not sure about the 'less desirable personality traits' - a wonderful personality comes through here...fire in the belly... volcanic eruption often leads to creativity of a fine level such as this. Kudos!

Indeed, those thoughts do have power, L.G. Speak them aloud, and the power increases. Besides, when we do rail on about our perceived injustices, we sound a great deal like that murder of crows.

Lin,

That photograph is stunning - now why can't my lightning shots ever come out like that?!? The journalling is powerful; intense; gets its intention across. We all spit fire from time to time: when driven to the point of tears, though, WATCH OUT!! LOL Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
